Sports & Recreation
World-class sports and recreational facilities boost the quality
of life and support economic development in Anoka County. Here
are a few of the highlights:
National Sports Center
What sports facility draws the most visitors per year in
Minnesota? In 2000, it was the National Sports Center (NSC) in Blaine,
with over two million visitors. The NSC is the world's largest
soccer complex with 55 fields. And soccer isn't the only game as the
NSC. There are four sheets of Olympic-sized ice, and world-class facilities
for track and field events and bicycle racing. The NSC - which has
hosted over 50 national and international sporting events - has a
30 million dollar annual impact on the local economy

Tournament Players Club

Minnesota native Tom Lehman, the Tournament Players Club (TPC) of
the Twin Cities was nominated by Golf Digest as the best new
private course after opening in June 2000. The TPC of the Twin
Cities is the site of the SENIOR PGA TOUR's 3M Championship.
