How To Obtain

You can purchase a Marriage License at the Government Center Vital Statistics office or at any Anoka County License Center by filling out the application form, providing the required identification and paying the required fee.

There is a five business day or thirty day waiting period before the license can be used.  You may pick up the license after the waiting period or have it mailed to your address. See Are you getting married for more information about the waiting period.

Required Forms

Click here for the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.You can display and print Adobe Acrobat files with the free Reader program, which can be downloaded from the Adobe Web site.

Download the Marriage License application form (Adobe Acrobat format)  print it, fill it out, and bring the unsigned form to the Government Center Vital Statistics office or any Anoka County License Center.  (Please note: If the form appears to be "cut off" when you print it, make sure that the "Shrink oversized pages to paper size" box is checked in the Adobe Acrobat print dialog box.)

You may also fill out the application form at the Government Center Vital Statistics office or any Anoka County License Center.

If you qualify for the reduced fee by completing at least 12 hours of premarital education, download the Reduced Marriage Fee Educators Statement (Adobe Acrobat format) and then print it.  The educator must sign and have notarized the statement on their letterhead before you bring it to the Government Center Vital Statistics office or any Anoka County License Center.

Required Identification

Both parties to be married must apply for the license. Identification should be brought for both parties.

Required Fees

$110.00

$40.00 for parties who have completed at least 12 hours of premarital education.

Anoka County License Centers can accept payment by cash or check.
