16th ANNUAL HEALTH WALK GETS COUNTY EMPLOYEES MOVING
Anoka County’s 16th annual health walk held May 13 had more than
120 participating employees. Anoka County Commissioners Rhonda
Sivarajah and Robyn West, human service committee members, put on
their walking shoes and joined Government Center employees on a walk
around the city of Anoka while satellite county buildings hosted
walks in their neighborhoods, too.
"Exercise offers so many benefits," Sivarajah told employees.
"Regular physical activity helps to reduce your risk for many
chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, Type II diabetes
and high blood pressure."
