now for the second annual 5K Bunker Stampede walk/run taking place
on Saturday, September 13, at 9:30 a.m. at Bunker Hills Regional
Park. Serving as the kick-off for the Bunker Prairie Festival, the
5K walk/run traverses the beautiful woodlands, prairies, and
wetlands of Bunker Hills Regional Park.
The registration fee for the Bunker Stampede is $15 in advance
(register by September 5) or $20 the day of the event. Registration
and check-in opens at 7:30 a.m. on September 13. A free kid’s fun
run follows the Bunker Stampede at 11 a.m. (The kid’s fun run does
not require pre-registration.) All participants in the Bunker
Stampede receive a t-shirt and refreshments.
Last year, more than 130 people participated in the inaugural
Bunker Stampede. “It was great to see so many people come out to
experience firsthand the great trails in Bunker Hills,” said Anoka
County Commissioner Dick Lang, who chairs the Parks and Recreation
Committee. “We hope to have even more participants this year!”
