Second Annual Bunker Prairie Fest and Bunker Run Saturday, September 13      

The Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department invites you to celebrate outdoor recreation and backyard conservation at the second annual Bunker Prairie Festival Saturday, September 13, at the Bunker Hills Activity Center in Andover.

The fun starts at 9:30 a.m. with the Bunker Stampede, a 5K walk/run that traverses prairies, woodlands, and wetlands.  Cost for the 5K walk/run is $15 if received by September 5 and $20 thereafter.  Register by calling 763-757-3920 or online at www.anokacountyparks.com.  A free Kids Fun Run follows at 11 a.m.  No pre-registration is required for the Kids Fun Run.

The Bunker Prairie Festival will feature a variety of events and entertainment from noon to 3 p.m. including:

  • Children’s craft tent:  Children of all ages can participate in a variety of nature-based art projects.
  • Entertainment:  Enjoy the music of Diva Sarah Black & Co.
  • Hands-on archery demonstrations
  • Hands-on apple cidering demonstrations
  • Hay rides
  • Climbing wall
  • Petting zoo
  • Dry land skijoring demonstrations
  • Prairie plantings
  • Yoga in the parks
  • An expo area highlighting local businesses that support outdoor recreation and backyard conservation
